We left Chiloe one month ago. We had a good window for going south. After 3 weeks of northerly because of the big high from Eastern Island, we finally got a windows of NW, following a low. During 4 days the wind blowed 30nds, making us having a great average and the chance to sail straight to Magellan straight. It is about now 3 weeks that we are sailing in the South of Patagonia, avoiding the lows and enjoying the westerlies who push us quietly to the Atlantic Ocean. Now short stop in Puerto Williams. It is about one month now that we haven’t we many people around, one sailing yacht, 3 fisherman, and some working ships, we are happy to make a stop now before reaching the Falkland Islands next months. Quiet demanding cruising down here, between snow storm, site effects, and strong westerlies. On engine died, the 2 sails got torn, windlass broken, fresh water pompe dead too. Nice, well at least it teaches you how to build up a plan B and C!
